Isaac Ehrlich, Department Chair welcomes Lynn and Jim Scarpati, who, in 2010, established the Matthew Scarpati Endowed Scholarship Fund as a way to memorialize their son.  Matthew was a freshman at UB majoring in Economics when his life was tragically cut short by a drunk motorcyclist near his hometown of Long Island, NY.  Although this scholarship has been twice awarded, this is the first time the Department of Economics has given out the award.
